Breakthrough Treatment For Acute and Chronic Back Pain!

The standard medical approach to back pain varies depending on the severity of the condition.  Muscle relaxers, painkillers, rest, and physical therapy such as traction, diathermy, ultrasound, hot and cold packs are sometimes used.  However, this approach has not been found very helpful.  If the problem doesn’t improve or worsens, then surgery may be recommended.

Most spinal surgery for acute lower back problems should be rarely performed and can be avoided.  Many people who have had back surgery report a recurrence of their symptoms within a year or two of the operation and may return to the operating table.  In some cases, the surgery makes no difference whatsoever.  In other cases, it does bring long-term relief.

We take a different approach to the treatment and prevention of low back pain.

You must be evaluated for pronation as a contrubuting factor for low back and leg pain

You must be evaluated for pronation as a contributing factor for low back and leg pain

After a thorough neurological examination I determine which part of the nervous system is not functioning properly. Is the pain coming more from a nerve root, disc or facet joint, or from an imbalance in the brain that increases your perception of pain. In most cases, great success can be achieved with proper evaluation. We check for lumbar, pelvic, hip, knee and ankle structural imbalances in addition to neck misalignments. The ankles are the foundation and can cause problems all the way up into the low back. Why the neck? Pressure on the spinal cord at the neck level can directly effect the muscles in the low back by sending inappropriate nerve impulses to those muscles in the form of spasms that create imbalances.

We must take a multi-faceted approach.

Specific Chiropractic Manipulation (correcting misaligned vertebra very accurately), Rehabilitation Exercises On Our Patented Equipment and Pilates Based Physical Therapy for long-term core muscle strengthening can help most of those suffering from low back pain in our office. Some however, have back pain because of a sympathetic nervous system response that causes the nerves in your body to have heightened sensitivity.

In these low back pain patients, particularly those with severe acute pain or with chronic unresponsive pain, it may be an over-firing mesencephalon located at the top part of the brain stem. A high output of the mesencephalon can also cause an increase in heart rate, insomnia or restless sleep, urinary tract infections, increase warmth or sweating, sensitivity to light, fatigue and chronic pain syndromes.

When the mesencephalon is over-firing, the cerebellum is under-firing. The cerebellum is in the back part of the brain and controls all of the involuntary spinal musculature. It controls coordination, balance and cognitive function. Treatment must then lean toward Brain Based Therapy when the mesencephalon and cerebellum are involved.

Brain Based Therapy (BBT) was created by Frederick Carrick Ph.D., D.C.  and is highly specialized. This is usually the chronic pain patient that has been to many doctors without good results. No matter what the cause, we will source your pain.
