Is Pilates A Type of Physical Therapy or Fitness Exercise Program?

The 'Reformer' With A Half Trap
Pilates Based Physical Rehabilitation is a new approach to rehabilitating painful neck-back-spinal or joint conditions due to injury from car accidents, over-use, old injury or gradual deconditioning of the body. What was once considered a method for improved fitness, has now become a preferred choice by many in the physical therapy world to rehabilitate difficult spinal injuries and painful joint conditions. Pilates is very unique and all exercises are performed with precision and under complete one-on-one supervision. You will never be left in a room to do exercises on your own.

Unique Positioning and Movements To Develop Core Strength
Sessions can be significantly modified to accommodate those who have significant pain and a loss of motion and strength. We locate “WHERE” the weakness really exists just by observing how you perform the exercises and what you can or cannot do. There is also special attention given to moving accurately, properly and symmetrically so that an individual does not imbed or memorize improper neurological pathways or out of balance movement forms. In other words, there is considerable attention to the detail of proper movements and form that helps a person protect and move properly in the real world and not re-injure themselves. There are close to 6000 different variations of exercises and modifications to meet a persons special needs for rehabilitation.
